Intensities in Four Cities? (Or, Cities to the Fourth Power?)

For those of you who don't know, there exists in the midwestern US a metropolitan region called the "Quad Cities." It consists, basically, of the metro areas of Davenport and Bettendorf, Iowa, as well as Moline, East Moline, and Rock Island, Illinois. More formally, it is known as the Davenport-Moline-Rock Island Metropolitan Statistical Area, but this is all academic and not particularly delicious or even remotely gastronomical in nature.

Much more importantly, the Quad Cities region of the American Midwest is home to something called "Quad Cities-Style pizza," which I learned this week is an excessively-cheesy, over-topped treat cut into long, rectangular slices.

Since I have yet to try a QC-style pie, obviously I cannot review it now. But you can read more about it in a Washington Post article from earlier this week that (arguably) thrust this style into the national pizza spotlight.

More on the Quad Cities-style pizza to follow!
